Microchips: VMware Boss Puts Brakes on ARM Server Revolution

Will the world's largest software applications run on servers equipped with ultra-low-power ARM processors not unlike the one in your iPhone? That's a question hanging over the world's data centers, as a raft of companies work to make these "wimpy node" servers a reality, including everyone from Dell and HP to newcomers such as Texas-based Calexa and the AMD-owned SeaMicro.
